KEITA YANO VS YOSHINORI NARITA – BATTLARTS 3/14/2010

Very grapple heavy contest for the first five minutes without a strike being thrown. These two were just feeling each other out on the mat, Keita was trying to work over Narita’s arm but he was a slippery sucker and managed to evade the young wallabee.

The first bit of violence did come when Yano just viciously double stomped Narita’s face before once again going back to the arm. I don’t think I’ve seen Narita before but he looks like Kota Ibushi if Ibushi seventy five less pounds and a foot and half shorter. Narita loved using the flying armbar multiple times throughout the match but Yano never let the dude fully cinch it in.

Narita gained the upper hand via a sick release German suplex but Keita managed to make it back to his feet before the ten count. Keita once again swung momentum back following a dropkick to the face, not long after he locked in the STF and Narita tapped out. Really fun match that I don’t think my review really gave justice to. Worth the watch considering it clocks in under nine minutes.

TORU & YUN GANCHUL VS CHIBA CHIBA & KEITA YANO – OSAKA KAIKAN 7/25/2016

Chubby Keita! It’s amazing how much younger he looks in the modern day as opposed to six years ago due to his weight loss. I don’t know Yun, he doesn’t necessarily have the ideal physique but his opening exchanges with Yano weren’t terrible. TORU has grown so much as a performer the past few years, if I was to start a promotion I’d make him one of my top junior heavyweights. Yun has a very unique move set, he utilised the European uppercut very well. Yun’s actually quite funny, I’m digging his comedy routine as it’s different to the usual Japanese comedy.

Keita’s done absolutely nothing in this match haha he’s shown zero interest in getting involved with anything so you gotta love our Wallabee. Keita got a hot tag that was immediately cut off and shortly after he recovered he just punched TORU in the mouth which was beautiful. KEITA WITH A STUNNER! Steve Austin mannerisms and all! Chiba pins the Yun fella with a DDT, fun finish.

KEITA YANO VS MIKE SYDAL – SICW 10/16/2016

Believe it or not this is the first match of Keita’s USA run that I’ve ever watched… I just don’t watch US indie wrestling but if there’s one guy that will get me to watch it then it’s none other than Keita.

With all due respect the crowd looks like a senior citizens lawn bowls squad, this is some real backwoods shit but I’m 100% here for it.

Turned out to be quite the enjoyable match as it was completely different to every other Yano match I’ve ever seen, he really took on the role of being the dominant heel and he excelled! He and Sydal shared very good chemistry, Sydal just let Keita control the pace and flow of the match and things turned out great. The commentator really put over Yano’s unorthodox mannerism’s and whilst the crowd on hand might not have appreciated the match I’m positive the promoter would have been pleased with Keita’s efforts. Sydal didn’t get much time to shine other than his comeback late in the match but he looked nothing but solid. He made Keita tap put following the yoga hold or whatever the heck he calls his Muta-lock but yeah another recommended match!

THE BRAHMAN BROTHERS VS GENTARO & KEITA YANO – FREEDOMS 5/17/2015

SO MUCH FUN !

A clipped match of which we get about eight minutes of action but my goodness those eight minutes were mighty fine! Keita would be great in modern FREEDOMS, he is definitely the type of motherfucker that would randomly start doing death matches sixteen years into his career. Kasai vs Keita would sell out the dome.

Keita was all about the lucha in this match, The Brahman’s both started their careers in Mexico for Ultimo Dragon so Yano definitely took advantage of the brother’s basing abilities. Yano wasn’t in shape around this time period but far out he landed a beautiful looking tope within like the first minute.

Great comedy stuff from the Brahman’s, the crowd DID get wet. Gentaro didn’t do much as Keita was in the ring for the most time but I always love seeing Gentaro beat up fools. Keita actually got the win after he tombstoned a Brahman onto a stop sign, he did the classic Undertaker pin as well.
